Digital Learning Podcast
Sharing practice and ideas through audio
Best in: Digi Learning is an internal podcast series created to spotlight digital learning practice at University of Sunderland in London.
The series shares the stories of educators who are transforming teaching through digital innovation, with each episode exploring practical approaches to blended and online learning.
Purpose & audience
The podcast was designed for academic and professional services staff, creating a space to share practice, surface ideas, and make digital learning work more visible across the institution.
Episodes focused on practical, transferable approaches to teaching and learning, supporting colleagues to learn from one another rather than positioning digital innovation as specialist or siloed work.
Content focus
Across the series, episodes explored themes including:
Gamification and learner motivation
Curriculum and learning design
Accessibility and inclusive practice
Adult learning principles and digital pedagogy
Creative uses of the VLE and blended learning
The emphasis throughout was on how and why approaches worked in practice.
My role
I led the podcast end to end, including:
Shaping the concept and episode themes
Interviewing contributors
Planning and organising recordings
Editing and producing episodes using Adobe Audition
This work supported my wider role in promoting reflective practice and encouraging engagement with digital learning across the university.
Reach & impact
Episodes were shared through the university’s monthly digital learning newsletter and referenced by colleagues on LinkedIn, helping to raise the profile of digital teaching practice and encourage wider discussion across teams.
The podcast complemented other digital learning initiatives by providing an accessible, informal way for staff to engage with ideas and examples.
